A chaperone is a trained member of staff who is present during certain examinations, treatments or procedures to provide support, reassurance and protection for both patients and healthcare professionals. Chaperones help ensure that patients feel comfortable, safe and respected at all times, particularly during intimate examinations.
At our practice, all chaperones are fully trained for their role and have completed DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks. Our chaperones can also be easily identified by their official chaperone badge. Patients are welcome to request a chaperone for any appointment or examination if they would feel more comfortable having one present.
